Max Payne 3, the third game in the Max Payne series, is a third person shooting game that was developed and published by Rockstar Games and produced by Sam Houser. Max Payne 3 for PS3 was the first game released on May 15th, 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. There is both a single player mode and an online multiplayer mode.

Max Payne 3 Plot

Nine years after the events of the second game, Max is dismissed by the NYPD. He spends most of his days at a bar in New Jersey, when one night Max kills the son of a local mob boss. With a price on his head that continues to grow Max decides to leave for the security job in South America. Max Payne 3 Characters

The main character is Max Payne, a former detective who is now a vigilante due to the death of his wife and daughter. In Max Payne 3, Max is employed to be a private security contractor by the wealthy Rodrigo Branco and the Branco family (wife Fabiana and sons Rodrigo, Victor, and Marcelo). Raul Passos is the man who offers Max the job one night at a bar in New Jersey.

Max Payne 3 Gameplay

Max Payne 3 is a third person shooter game where the player assumes the role of Max Payne. One of the advances that was made for this game in the series is a cover system which will allow the player to gain tactical advantage and avoid taking damage from enemies. The gameplay includes cut scenes, with seamless transitions between the two and no loading screens. When fighting there are many features to assist you such as auto-aiming and the new cover system. And if you’re taking some damage during a fight, there are painkillers around that will regenerate the players health. Another feature is the “Last Stand,” which allows the player to kill an enemy that last wounded the player when the players health is fully depleted.

Max Payne 3 Multiplayer

The multiplayer functions for this game are the online mode and features maps that change within a match. Up to 16 players can engage in either cooperative or competitive gameplay that recreates many of the single player settings. Players can work together forming crews (teams) and you’ll be able to complete various tasks. You are able to join up to five crews in total. There are also multiplayer matches that crews can earn experience points to climb up the online leaderboards.

Sam Houser aimed to start a new chapter of Max’s life in this game. In this game Max has left New York City and is in a really bad place. In his new city Max has been double crossed and is looking for a way out and to find the truth for himself. The setting for this game is set in Sao Paulo Brazil, several years after the first ending of the second game. Max Payne is working for the wealthy Rodrigo Branco and his family.

Over the years there has been a lot of extra content released on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, some costing money and some for free. These downloads would add to the single player and multiplayer games.
