Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is an first person shooter game which was started by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games in 2011. It is the third game in the MW series, after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, released in 2009, and the eighth Call of Duty game.

Released on 8th November, 2011, in North America on Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii, 6.5 million copies of Modern Warfare 3 in the US and UK alone were sold, making it the biggest launch of all time until Call of Duty: Black Ops II. As of 2013, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has sold 26.5 million copies.

Gameplay in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is a first-person shooter game, in which the basic storyline sees the return of former Task Force 141 Captain. John MacTavish, former S.A.S Captain John Price and Russian informant Nikolai, who are on the run after killing the rogue Lt. General Shepherd, the main antagonist of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But, for most of the game, the player will control Yuri, who joins Price on his hunt for Russian Ultranationalist leader Vladimir Makarov. Makarov returns as the game’s primary antagonist, and has a new contact named Volk, a Russian bomb maker in Paris. There are many new characters in Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3, including: Delta Force operative Sergeant Derek Westbrook; S.A.S Sergeant, Marcus Burns, and Andrei Harkov, a Russian federal security agent with the task of protecting the Russian President. The player also controls briefly a civilian tourist in London, seconds before he and his family are killed by a chemical agent; as well as an AC-130 TV Operator during Team Metal’s escape from Paris in a mission.

There are three types of options to choose from in Modern Warfare 3, such as Campaign, Cooperative and Multiplayer.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Campaign

In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Campaign, a single player controls different characters or heroes as the story progresses. Just as in the previous games, four sets of “Acts” divide the campaign. Each mission in an Act shows a set of objectives to be achieved in the HUD, or “Heads-up Display”. The amount of health lost when a player is hurt is shown on the Health HUD on the screen. The player’s health is regenerated in time, or when he has completed a checkpoint. Every mission’s objectives differ from arriving at a checkpoint, following someone, defending against the enemy, manning tanks and other vehicles, planting bombs and other different things. There are also scenes from the story, which the player can skip if he/she has already seen it.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Cooperative

In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, there is a new mode, named as “Survival”. Survival allows one to four players to fight endless rounds of enemies, with each round becoming more difficult. It is different from the Nazi Zombies mode in Call Of Duty World At War. The main difference is that enemies no longer spawn at predefined places , but appear instead at places based on blind spots of the player. This mode is available on all multiplayer maps in the game. Players earn cash for items such as weapons, upgrades, ammunition, and equipment. Special Ops also is included in Modern Warfare 3.These missions give up to 48 stars, unlike other games, which gave 69. Some weapons in Special Ops are exclusive to it, and they are not available in Multiplayer.

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayer

In Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer, Kill streaks, now known as Point streaks, has been changed to make it more tough for players to get early unlocks, and kills are no longer the only way to increase the player’s point streak. Instead, other things like planting of bombs or capturing of a flag in the mission awards points towards the player’s Pointstreak. Rewards are organized into three packages called Assault, Support, and Specialist.

The Assault package is the same as the Kill streak system in Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops: the player has only one life and should earn points without dying. Once the player is killed, his or her points are restored to zero. The Specialist strike package rewards players with gifts after every consecutive kill. Upon death, however, the player loses all of it and the points are restored to zero. In contrast, the Support strike package is awarded based on the total points that the player has earned over the entire match, regardless of how often he dies Along with changing the entire Point streak system, Modern Warfare 3 also has a changed Ranking system, which does not use currency for unlocks. The player’s main weapon levels up alongside the player, and unlocks a number of “Proficiency” gifts such as Attachment, Kick, and Focus. However, only one gift can be put on it. Modern Warfare 3 introduces a new “Prestige Shop” which will unlock only after the player has selected the option to prestige for the first time. The “Prestige Shop” allows players to use tokens they gain from using the Prestige option to buy new features like double XP and an extra custom weapon class.
