Alien Isolation is the latest installment up for pre-order in the ever so successful Alien franchise and is undoubtedly one of the most terrifying video games ever created that emanates bloodcurdling horror as the main character Amanda Ripley sets out to find more about her mother’s disappearance in this survival horror game. Styled loosely based on Ridley Scott’s movie Alien, it has certain elements that will leave you feeling unsettled, especially the existence of one single alien who can survive in any condition and cannot be killed. The tactic is to be sneaky, crafty and witty in finding your way out. Following the Alien franchise, this story is set 15 years hence where Amanda Ripley, daughter of Ellen Ripley is investigating as to why her mother disappeared.
While playing Alien Isolation, you get to portray the character of Amanda Ripley trying to navigate through a world that is filled with petrified people unable to grasp a hold on the events that are unfolding in a dangerously unstable environment with a merciless alien on the loose. As the lead player of the game, you have absolutely no experience and power to take on the alien who is far more unpredictable than it seems.
In addition to trying to use your mental power and wit in an edgy environment, you also have to hunt for resources that will aid your survival and most importantly, your main task is to make sure that you do not fall prey to the alien.
Alien Isolation – Who are Amanda Ripley and Ellen Ripley?
As stated earlier, Alien Isolation is part of the Alien Franchise and in the earlier Alien series, Ellen Ripley was the female protagonist who worked as the warrant office for the USCSS Nostromo. The USCSS Nostromo was the spaceship that travelled from planet Thedus to planet Earth.
Once the spaceship makes its landing on the planet, there is an explosion that takes place that is caused by an unknown creature and Ellen is the only one to have survived. However, she goes into stasis. Initially, it is known to the world that Amanda Ripley, the daughter that Ellen Ripley had given birth to was dead. However, only later it is known that she is in fact alive. In the 57 year stasis that Ellen Ripley was in, her daughter had grown up and died. Alien Isolation takes place 15 years after the first installment of the movie, Alien when her mother goes into a stasis. Amanda, who was then alive and an older adult goes into the dark deep world of terror to look for her mother and to survive the terrifying alien that is stalking her every move. Therefore, this game is all about finding clues to the disappearance of Ellen Ripley by her daughter Amanda Ripley whilst being extremely cautious to make sure that she does not cross paths with the unpredictable alien.

Keeping all of the aforementioned points in mind, Alien Isolation takes your gaming experience to a whole new level of fear and horror when Amanda goes on the lookout for her mother, Ellen Ripley. This game, to say the least, is your best shot at reality, the atmosphere gloomy and dark. The sounds and echoes of the moving Xenomorph that is constantly stalking you to take you down.
Aliens Isolation manages to create an intensely stressed environment with graphics that are deceptively realistic that is likely to transport you to Amanda’s world as you find your chance at survival by using your wits to find a way out of her nightmare to survive.
While in the midst of Alien Isolation, you will find yourself holding your breath as you try your best to shield yourself from the vision of the terrifying Xenomorph. If that was not difficult enough, you will also have to find your way through humans who are petrified with this onslaught of the alien intruder. You’ll also have to find ways to deviate around the murderous androids that will be your hidden priority as well. Amanda’s sole mission in Alien Isolation is to find out what exactly happened to her mother towards the end of the first series of the film and while the mission seems incredibly straightforward, it is anything but.
